Lia Beach reopening in July 2016
We’re achieving the construction of our first 2 bamboo bungalows and will be ready to welcome you as of July 1st, 2016.
WE ARE ALMOST READY!
It’s been quite a journey, but we’ve made it!
After a lot of ups and downs, and a crowdfunding campaign that went beyond all our hopes, we have managed to complete the construction of our first 2 bamboo bungalows!
We are now doing some finishing and landscaping before we can open our doors.
WHY ONLY 2 BUNGALOWS?
We’ve learnt a lot building these bungalows, and now we know it takes a lot of time and a huge investment to build with bamboo in the Togean islands. Some might argue that bamboo is cheap here, which is true, but the process to treat it (make it termite-proof) in a secluded area where transportation is difficult and manpower sometimes hard to find, makes the construction a lot more expensive than we had planned.
As a result, we need to go “pelan-pelan” as they say here (= slowly), and we’ll build more bungalows as we go along. As for the bamboo restaurant, which is a piece of art of its own and includes a lot of materials and manpower, we will build it later.
In the meantime, we are very happy to welcome you on our beautiful beach, where you’ll be able to enjoy, among others:
– 2 exclusive bamboo bungalows with private open-air bathroom
– 4 standard room with shared Indonesian bathroom
– 2 tents
– a simple dining/chilling out area on the sand, sheltered by wooden/leaf roofing gazebos
– a white sandy beach to relax and take a swim
– snorkeling trips on the surrounding reefs…
We are looking forward to welcoming you at Lia Beach, and hope you will love it as much as we do!
Don’t forget to book your stay at Lia Beach, July and August on the Togean islands are very crowded
